Seven boys, 2 girls held for boozing in Patna

PATNA: Nine youths, including two girls, were arrested for consuming liquor during a birthday party in a house near Ashram Gali under Shastri Nagar police station area in Patna on Monday.
The police caught some of them in an inebriated state while they were making a ruckus on the road. Medical tests confirmed that they had consumed liquor, which is banned in Bihar.
Acting on a tip-off, the police team reached Ashram Gali and took them into custody for interrogation. They were found under the influence of alcohol and pestering the locals outside the house.
SHO Rama Shanker Singh told TOI that they had got a tip-off about the birthday party. “All men and women were in drunk and creating a scene on the roadside. No liquor bottle was found but the medical test confirmed that they had consumed alcohol,” he said.
He added: “The birthday party was organised at the house of one Suraj Kumar.”
