THANE: In a narrow escape for many a school bus carrying students overturned in Ambernath. One student received minor injuries.
The bus was carrying students from PMM Inner Wheel, a private school in Ambernath. The bus overturned completely when the driver attempted to reverse the vehicle on a slope and lost control. The bus was heading towards the school.

An eyewitness said that the manner in which the bus overturned scared passers-by as they believed that the students may have got injured.
However, the students along with the bus driver and cleaner were safely rescued from the bus with the help from locals.
The Shivaji Nagar police said that there were a total of 15 students and only one suffered minor scratches while the others were unhurt.
The incident was also captured by a CCTV camera installed on buildings opposite the accident site which has gone viral on social media.
Senior police inspector of Shivaji Nagar police station AS Bhagat said, "All students are safe except one who suffered minor scratches." Bhagat said, "We have booked the bus driver for negligent driving and further probe is on."
Incidently, , a school bus carrying students, staff and a driver onboard caught fire in Navi Mumbai recently.
The incident took place around 11:30am in Sector 15 of Kharghar, said a fire official. Four students of a school, a staff member and a driver were present in the vehicle when it caught fire, added the official.
As soon as the incident was reported, fire personnel rushed to the spot and a water tanker was also dispatched to douse the flames. According to officials the fire was put out in 15 minutes.
