Assam Police arrested 24 Popular Front of India (PFI) activists from different districts across the state in a fresh crackdown against the outfit on Tuesday.
Earlier on September 22, Assam Police had arrested 11 PFI leaders and members from Delhi and different parts of the state.
Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “This is on ongoing opretiaon and today we have picked up 24 PFI members. Our operations against PFI will be intensified now.”
Sarma had earlier said that his government has been urging the Centre to ban the outfit for allegedly creating an eco-system for terror activities.
