Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 1.19% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded negative around 10:19AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.

MRF(up 1.39 per cent), Eicher Motors(up 0.36 per cent), Sona BLW Precision Forgings(up 0.29 per cent) and TVS Motor Company(up 0.2 per cent) were among the top gainers.

TIINDIA(down 5.8 per cent), Ashok Leyland(down 3.3 per cent), Bharat Forge(down 2.01 per cent), Hero MotoCorp(down 1.96 per cent) and Escorts Kubota(down 1.59 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was down 1.19 per cent at 12444.55 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 21.25 points at 17037.55, while the BSE Sensex was up 116.97 points at 57262.19.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 were trading in the green, while 23 were in the red.

Shares of , JP Power, , Zomato Ltd. and were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of , , , and hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Mega Flex ., Viviana Power Tech Ltd., , Debock Sales & Mktg and Mercator hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
