Ranchi: Parents on Sunday celebrated the Daughters Day with surprise gifts, cooking favourite dishes and by posting photographs of their joy on social media.
Archana Choudhary, a teacher with the J K International School, said she prepared her daughter Navya’s favourite dish ‘Chola Bhatura’ to wish her on the occasion.
She also spent time with her daughter during the day.
“As I am a teacher, I don’t get much time to spend with her. So, to wish her on Daughter's Day, I prepared her favourite dish and I spent all my time with her. Navya loves art and she told me to help her and from the morning, I am helping her make paintings. Also, we have a plan to go for a walk in the evening.”
Sher Khan, a vegetable vendor, says he gifted a dress to his daughter, Gulnaz Pravin, who is pursuing graduation from the Marwari College.
Khan said, “My daughter is like a son to me. She has provided me with numerous pecuniary support. She earns money by sewing, saves it and gives it to me whenever I need it.
He added, “But I return it when I saved up enough. She is my emotional and financial support and I feel very fortunate to have her. Today, i repaid for what she did for me by buying her a dress.”
