Coimbatore: Communist Party of India (CPI) state secretary R Mutharasan on Sunday urged the police department to take action against the culprits behind the petrol bomb attacks.
Speaking to reporters here, Mutharasan said police must zero in on the miscreants based on CCTV footage.
Launching a broadside against
Bharatiya Janata Party (
BJP), the CPI leader said the party is attempting to plant seeds of hatred. “BJP is attempting to promote hatred in the society by criticising the recent speech by DMK MP A Raja, who spoke about sanatana dharma. The national party is also attempting to disrupt law and order by hosting protests against Raja,” he said.
Mutharasan also condemned the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for drafting a lesson in a Class VI textbook on sanatana dharma, which reportedly shows the difference between upper and lower caste people. “CPI will stage a demonstration and burn copies of the textbook if the subject is not removed.” TNN
