Stock market update: Sugar stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading lower on Monday at 11:05AM

Mawana Sugars(down 9.51%), Ugar Sugar Works(down 8.67%), Sakthi Sugars(down 7.95%), & Industries(down 7.25%), Shree Renuka Sugars(down 6.52%), Uttam Sugar Mills(down 6.25%), Balrampur Chini Mills(down 5.95%), BAJAJHIND(down 5.94%), & Chemicals(down 5.78%) and Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries(down 5.71%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 317.6 points down at 17009.75, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 961.1 points at 57137.82 at around 11:05AM.

Nestle India(up 1.54%), Divis Laboratories(up 1.41%), HCL Technologies(up 0.78%), Infosys(up 0.77%), Asian Paints(up 0.52%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 0.21%), Britannia Industries(up 0.14%) and Hindustan Unilever(up 0.1%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Power Grid Corporation of India(down 6.91%), Tata Motors(down 6.64%), Hindalco Industries(down 5.58%), Eicher Motors(down 5.11%), Tata Steel(down 5.03%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 5.03%), Bajaj Finance(down 4.89%), JSW Steel(down 4.33%), Enterprises(down 4.14%) and UPL Ltd(down 4.01%) were trading in the red.
