Int’l civil engg conference inaugurated

Mangaluru: The department of civil engineering, St Joseph Engineering College, Mangaluru, inaugurated its first international conference titled ‘Novel Sustainable Concepts and Technologies in Civil Engineering,’ on Friday. The three-day conference is organised in association with IOP Conference Series – Earth and Environmental Sciences, as publishing partner. Chief guest K V L Subramanyam, professor, department of civil engineering, IIT Hyderabad, inaugurated the conference. Delivering the inaugural address, Subramanyam briefed about the need for sustainable concepts in civil engineering, as infrastructure plays an important role as the backbone of the economy of the country.
