'Ponniyin Selvan' team is on a promotional tour across places in India for their film, which is slated to release on September 30. The team interacted with the media in Mumbai on Saturday (Sep 24) following the pre-release event. Chiyaan Vikram’s speech during the promotion has gone viral on social media. Vikram, who plays the role of Aditiya Karaikalan spoke about the significance of Thanjavur Periya Kovil (Brihadeeswara temple). Chiyaan Vikram spoke about the Indian temples and also detailed the significance of the Thanjavur Brihadeeswara Temple temple which was built by Rajaraja Cholan. The temple with the tallest tower in the world has a massive stone at the top of the temple tower which alone weighs 80 tons. He shared that Thanjavur Temple was built at a time when there were no machines, and the Chola king built it with the help of elephants, bulls, and humans. He further added that the temple built without using any plasters has withstood six earthquakes and the amazing architecture is the reason for it standing tall without any damage. Chiyaan Vikram explained the history of Cholas in a single stretch speech of two minutes and got a huge round of applause. 'Ponniyin Selvan' is set for a grand release in five languages, and the reservations for the film are open across the globe. The FDFS for the much-awaited historical drama is to begin at 4 am IST on September 30.
