UP: Class 7 boy hangs self after thrashing by teacher, principal
Rae Bareli police on Friday booked the principal and a teacher of a private school for abetment to suicide, committed by a class 7 student on Thursday. The boy, Yash Singh, was appearing for half-yearly papers when he was allegedly caught using unfair means. He was thrashed by the principal and the teacher. The boy returned home and hanged himself inside his room. He left behind a suicide note which said, "We should be given a second chance".

The boy returned home and hanged himself inside his room. He left behind a suicide note which said, "We should be given a second chance".
SP, Rae Bareli, Alok Priyadarshi said that an FIR under the charges of abetment to suicide has been registered against teacher Monika Margo and principal Rajni D'Souza. The school is located in the Mill police station area of the district. "Probe has been entrusted to a DySP officer. We will take statements from other students and look at all the aspects of the case," he said.
The victim's uncle, a government school teacher, Rajeev Maurya said his nephew was staying with him for studies for the last five years while his father Ram Maurya stayed in a village. "On September 22, Yash returned home devastated and locked himself in his room. Around 3 pm when I reached home and knocked on his room door, I got no reply. I broke open the door to find him hanging from the fan with a bed-sheet around his neck," said Maurya.
