Allahabad Medical Association to hold annual meet after a gap of two years
PRAYAGRAJ: The annual conference of Allahabad Medical Association (AMA) will be held on September 25 after a gap of two years.
AMA president Dr Sujit Singh said: “Due to outbreak of Covid-19, the conference could not be conducted in the past two years. UPPSC chairman Sanjay Shrinet will be the chief guest of the conference whose theme is back to basics.”
Organising secretary Dr Siddharth Madnani said the conference will begin with keynote address by prof Sarita Bajaj, former HOD of Medicine, MLN Medical College, Prayagraj.
Endocrinologist from New Delhi Dr Deep Dutta will deliver a talk on prediabetes. It would be followed by talk on rational use of topical steroids by noted dermatologist from Nagpur Dr Vikrant Saoji.
Head of vitreo-retinal services at Narayana Nethralaya Eye Institute, Bengaluru Dr Chaitra Jayadev will throw light on “ophthalmic manifestation of systemic disorders” even as Dr Deepak Jumani, sexologist from Mumbai will speak on “erectile dysfunction-tip of the iceberg”.
The conference will have two orations as well. “Dr BL Agrawal Oration will be delivered by Dr Gourdas Choudhuri, gastroenterologist from Fortis Hospital Gurugram on “jaundice in pregnancy” while Dr Anoop Tripathi oration will be delivered by Dr Rajendra Prasad, director and head of the department of pulmonary medicine at Era Medical College, Lucknow on “role of chest X-ray in the era of CT Scan, said conveners Dr Ankita Agrawal and Dr Amrita Madnani.
The meet will conclude with a cultural extravaganza.
