Ranchi: The Ranchi district police will display contact numbers of police stations, police control room vans and tiger mobiles at several public places to enable citizens to report incidents as soon as possible during the Durga Puja celebrations.
Interacting with members of the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI), SSP (Ranchi) Kishore Kaushal said the ‘Shakti App’ will be made operational and the ‘Shakti Commandoes’ unit would also be revived for women’s safety. He also said the 100 number would be more responsive.
The SSP urged the traders to inform their respective local police stations when they move with a huge amount of cash. On cybercrime, Kaushal said though police would carry out investigations of incidents, people should avoid sharing vital information with strangers. The interaction also discussed flawed traffic lights, collection of donations forcibly during the festive season, crime against women and several other law and order issues. FJCCI joint secretary Rohit Poddar said, “Given the numerous issues raised by the traders, a coordination committee comprising FJCCI members, police officers and RMC officials will be formed to tackle the problems.” tnn
