LUDHIANA: A 40-year-old woman died after being stabbed multiple times by a relative when she was sitting outside her house in CMC colony at Jamalpur on Friday. The woman, Suman, was rushed to a hospital where she succumbed to injuries.
Joint commissioner of police (Rural) Ravcharan Singh Brar said the woman was stabbed by a cousin of her husband Raj Bahadur. The relative, identified as Arvind, had a dispute with Raj Bahadur. The accused stabbed the woman when she was sitting outside her house.
Her two sons tried to rescue her, however the accused attacked them too. They escaped unhurt. The police were recording statements of the kin of deceased at the time of filing of this report.
