ULHASNAGAR: Thursday’s building crash has spurred activists and elected representatives from Ulhasnagar to push for a notification for redevelopment of buildings in the township. After the chief minister accepted a committee’s report recently, no notification has yet been issued by the state government.
Local BJP MLA Kumar Ailani said that the notification has been prepared and once it gets legal sanction, it will be issued by the government. He said that he would soon meet CM Eknath Shinde and deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis in this regard.
NCP’s local leader Kamlesh Nikam warned of a protest if the state government fails to issue the notification at the earliest. NCP spokesperson Manoj Lassi said, “The state government should, on a priority basis, ask officials to start a one window system to clear files to pre-empt such tragedies.
Activist Shashikant Dayma, who has raised the issue of ‘dangerous’ buildings in Ulhasnagar city said: “The notification must be issued on a priority basis.
