Justice Yashwant Verma directs to club Flipkart's petition against the CCPA order with a similar petition by another e-commerce company Amazon

The Delhi High Court on Friday paused the order of the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) in the case of e-commerce company Flipkart. In that order, Flipkart was asked to recall some pressure cookers which allegedly did not meet the quality standards.
Justice Yashwant Verma directed to club Flipkart's petition against the CCPA order with a similar petition by another e-commerce company Amazon. He directed Flipkart to pay a fine of Rs 1 lakh which was imposed on it by the CCPA. The court also asked the company to inform the buyers about pressure cookers not meeting the standards.
The court asked the CCPA to file a reply on Flipkart's plea. It said that the interim order given in the case of Amazon will also be applicable in the present case. Earlier, on September 20, the court had stayed the CCPA order against Amazon. That case was also allegedly related to the sale of such domestic pressure cookers which did not meet the quality standards.
Last month, CCPA imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on Flipkart. It was also directed to inform the customers about 598 pressure cookers that did not meet the standards. Apart from this, the company was asked to bring back the pressure cooker and return the money to the customers.
