Government schools take part in folk dance contest
As part of National Population Education Project, a role play and folk dance competitions were organised at the district-level for Class IX students studying in government schools.
LUDHIANA: As part of National Population Education Project, a role play and folk dance competitions were organised at the district-level for Class IX students studying in government schools.
The participation provided students opportunities for experiential learning on life skill development and validating strategies of the role play for development of ability to apply life skills in peer group situations. Also, this created an enabling environment for effective transaction of adolescence education in schools.
There were 38 participants — 19 each in role play and folk dance competitons.
In role play competition, Government Senior Secondary School (GSSS) Ayali Khurd bagged the first position; GHS Jawaddi and GSSS Bhaini Darera were joint second; and GSSS Threeke secured the third position.
In folk dance, GSSS Ayali Kalan bagged first position; and GSSS Chapar and GSSS Purrain shared the second position; and GSSS Boys Sahnewal and GSSS PAU were third.
