Stock market update: Mining stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading lower on Friday at 10:34AM

Oriental Trimex(up 2.27%), Lexus Granito(up 1.52%), KIOCL(up 1.52%) and 20 Microns(up 1.07%) were among the top gainers.

Orissa Minerals Development Company(down 1.45%), NMDC Ltd(down 1.41%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(down 1.00%), Dvpt Corporation(down 0.92%), Coal India(down 0.70%), Aro Granite Industries(down 0.63%), Ashapura Minechem(down 0.48%), MOIL(down 0.19%) and Pokarna(down 0.18%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 177.35 points down at 17452.45, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 587.94 points at 58531.78 at around 10:34AM.

Divis Laboratories(up 1.62%), Tata Steel(up 1.59%), Infosys(up 1.39%), HCL Technologies(up 1.11%), Cipla(up 0.72%), Enterprises(up 0.7%), ITC(up 0.52%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 0.33%), Hindustan Unilever(up 0.32%) and Tata Consultancy(up 0.23%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Power Grid Corporation of India(down 3.75%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 2.85%), HDFC(down 2.56%), IndusInd Bank(down 2.49%), Axis Bank(down 2.38%), HDFC Bank(down 2.35%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 2.16%), Bajaj Finance(down 1.85%), State Bank of India(down 1.84%) and UPL Ltd(down 1.81%) were trading in the red.
