Min: Will clear encroachment in other cities

Mysuru: Urban development minister BA Basavaraju on Thursday said the state government will replicate the encroachment clearance drive taken up at Bengaluru in major cities in the state. He said the government will not buckle under any pressure from any quarters. “As feeder canals to water bodies located in the city area have been encroached, it has caused problems, mainly to people living in low-lying areas. We need to fix it,” Basavaraju said.
The minister said PM Modi wants to ensure benefits of welfare schemes reach all the needy across the nation. tnn
