Thiruvananthapuram: In protest against the bad condition of Manjalikulam Road, the corporation councillor, residents and merchants staged a road blockade here on Thursday.
The two-hour-long blockade affected the traffic.
Councillor C Harikumar said that the road has been in a pitiable condition for the past seven months.
“I kept raising complaints with the Smart City authorities and Kerala Road Fund Board officials. Drainage water also flows along this road and it has become unmotorable,” said Harikumar.
The councillor later called off the blockade following talks with KRFB officials. They have assured that the work would be completed at the earliest. tnn
