NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded negative around 09:59AM(IST)on Friday in a weak market.
Sona BLW Precision Forgings(up 1.0 per cent), Kubota(up 0.79 per cent) and TIINDIA(up 0.43 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Mahindra & Mahindra(down 2.83 per cent), Ashok Leyland(down 2.61 per cent), Bharat Forge(down 1.69 per cent), TVS Motor Company(down 1.59 per cent) and Tata Motors(down 1.31 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was down 1.21 per cent at 13159.5 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 162.2 points at 17467.6, while the BSE Sensex was down 595.2 points at 58524.52.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 11 were trading in the green, while 39 were in the red.
Shares of , , , M&M Financial and were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of , , Upsurge Seeds of Agriculture Ltd., Sonu . and hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Sabar Flex India Ltd., Ameya Precision Engineers Ltd., , . and Jay Jalaram Technologies Ltd. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
