The focus of the MoU will be on Single Reactor HEFA (Fuel) Technology for Drop-in Liquid Sustainable Aviation and Automatic Fuel (DILSAAF)

Tata Group's airlines - Air India, Air Asia India and Vistara - on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Indian Institute of Petroleum. Its purpose is that the two sides will work together on research, development and deployment of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAFs).
Air India spokesperson said that the objective of the MoU is that the two sides will work together in many other areas related to sustainable aviation. The airline spokesperson further said that the focus of the MoU will be on Single Reactor HEFA (Fuel) Technology for Drop-in Liquid Sustainable Aviation and Automatic Fuel (DILSAAF). Two days before this, Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia had emphasised on carbon neutrality.
Vistara and Air India Airlines are likely to merge. In the next few months, the way for the merger of both the giant companies can be cleared. Vistara is a joint venture between Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines, in which Tata holds 51 per cent and Singapore Airlines 49 per cent. In July, Vistara served more than one million air passengers. In terms of market share, this company has proved to be the second largest company with 10.4 per cent.
Vistara currently operates 250 flights on domestic and international routes. In this, most of the flights run domestically. During winters, the number of existing 250 flights will be increased and it will be taken up to about 280 flights every day.
