Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has once again praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, comparing him with Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) leader Nawaz Sharif on the issue of corruption. Imran Khan was criticising the former Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif, claiming that no other politician or leader in the world owns billions of assets abroad.
Addressing a public meeting, Khan said, if a country does not have rule of law, it does not get investment. Corruption happens when there is no rule of law. No country leader has billions in wealth or properties outside the country. Even in our neighboring country, how many properties does PM Modi have outside India? He said, no one can imagine how much wealth Nawaz has abroad.
Imran Khan, who was ousted from power in April after losing a no-confidence vote under his leadership, had earlier praised India for buying subsidised oil from Russia amid India's independent foreign policy and pressure from the West.
Imran had said that despite being part of the Quad, India kept its pressure on the US and bought subsidised Russian oil to provide relief to the public. This is what our government was working to achieve with the help of an independent foreign policy.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief had also claimed that no superpower can impose its will on India. Imran Khan gave this praise at a time when relations between New Delhi and Islamabad remain strained.
Imran Khan also criticised Shehbaz Sharif for foreign trips amid the devastation of floods in the country.
