472 arrested for disorderly conduct in Kolkata within 6 hours

KOLKATA: On Tuesday night, police made 529 arrests within six hours, of which 472 were for disorderly conduct.
The arrests included several who were held for rowdyism. Another 46 arrests were in connection with execution of warrants while 11 were arrested for gambling. The raids coincided with the drives by traffic cops to spot drunken driving, as well as major traffic rule violations. Cops also seized Rs 65,000 in cash and 180 litres of illicit liquor.
Lalbazar said several issues led them to continue the block chain raids for another week before puja.
