Panaji: Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Goa inked an agreement with Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda to train young women graduates and postgraduates.
As part of a pilot ‘campus to career’ initiative, CII’s Indian Women Network (IWN) plans to train female students who aspire to enter the corporate workforce or start their own ventures after completing their education.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by CII’s regional director Dr Rajesh Kapoor and director of Don Bosco college of Engineering Fr Kinley D’Cruz.
CII also organised an interaction between local entrepreneurs and manufactures, and the Indian Navy to facilitate involvement of local industries in the indigenization and small defence contracts for the Navy. “The goal is to educate and involve the local business of Goa in manufacturing and delivering their services covering the various needs of the Indian Navy in all its categories of equipment,” CII stated.
Local entrepreneurs were informed about the funding and tendering procedures of the ministry of defence, the Navy as well as schemes for education institutes.
The participants discussed the need to create a platform to directly interact with the Indian Navy, its requirements, procurement procedure and the vendor registration process.
