Woman refuses to patch up with former lover, gets killed
Ranchi: A 22-year-old woman was shot dead by her former live-in partner outside her parents’ house in Khassitoli locality under Chanho police station limits in Ranchi district on Monday morning. The woman reportedly refused to get back together with him, which prompted the attack.
The deceased was identified as Khusboo Kumari. The assailant, Raju Oraon, managed to flee from the spot on a bike, along with his accomplice Sanju Oraon, but was nabbed later in the day, police said.
Chanho police station OC Ranjay Kumar said, “Besides Raju, Sonu was also arrested with the help of local villagers.”
Raju was in live-in relationship with Kumari for the past one-and-a-half years. The two had an argument just before the Karma festival earlier this month. Kumari then left Oraon’s home and returned to her parents.
Raju came to Khusboo’s home at 9 am on Monday and asked her to come back to his house. “Kumari, however, refused to go back and an argument followed. Oraon then took out a country-made pistol and shot her in the chest, killing her instantly. Raju had the intention of killing her right from the outset when he came to meet her on Monday. ” Kumar said.
