Jamshedpur: The Durga Puja organising committees were instructed to ensure proper parking spaces for vehicles of the visitors coming to the pandals.
In its instructions, the district administration also said all big puja pandals and major crowd-pullers from Sasti to Navami in Steel City must put an adequate number of volunteers on duty to help the police force in ensuring a smooth traffic movement near their respective pandals. It pointed out that vehicles are not parked in front of the pandals causing problems for visitors.
SDM Nand Kishore Lal and DSP (headquarters 2) Kamal Kishore directed the organisers to install CCTV cameras at all pandals and keep a close vigil on the visitors near and inside the pandals so that any suspicious activities could be informed to the local police immediately.
Meanwhile, a few organisers pointed out the lack of parking spaces near their pandals and sought the administration's help to identify spaces where vehicles can be parked. They also urged the administration to ensure that traffic on main and approach roads to the pandals must have enough policemen to check unruly bikers. Debasish.Chatterjee
