Samajwadi Party's call to its MLAs and MLCs to march to the Assembly on Monday to mark their protest against 'price rise' and 'poor law and order', CM Yogi Adityanath said that while there was no harm in a party protesting in a democratic way, but expecting the SP to follow law and order was 'kalpanik' or unrealistic.
Saying that SP should have sought permission from police and administration before embarking on its protest march, he said had it done so, it would have definitely been granted permission.

The CM appealed to the Opposition to cooperate with the government in ensuring smooth Monsoon session where they could productively discuss issues relevant to common people.
"We always consider the House an efficient medium of dialogue, a place where there is dialogue with an open mind and there are fierce debates, if needed. There can also be criticism. It is only through a good analysis of issues that a positive contribution can be made to policies and decisions," he said. The CM added that people of the state have a lot of expectations from the monsoon session and his government had prepared to discuss several issues like floods. He added that the government was prepared to answer all the questions raised by the Opposition during the session.
During the five-day session, the government has reserved September 22 for women legislators where they will be given priority in speaking in both the upper and lower Houses.
CM Yogi further said that September 22 has been reserved for women legislators to speak in both the houses of the UP legislature, where they will express their views "about steps taken by the government towards ensuring women empowerment, dignity, security and self-reliance". The CM added BJP's double-engine government was working dedicatedly for the state, ensuring all-round welfare for 25 crore people of UP, without any discrimination. He said there was no space for anarchy and lawlessness in the state now. UP has also managed to successfully control spread of Covid-19, the CM claimed, adding that UP had so far administered over 38 crore doses of Covid vaccine.
