MYSURU: The Mysuru City Corporation will release Rs 2 lakh to all the 65 wards in the city to celebrate Mane Mane Dasara. Mayor Shivakumar made this announcement at the MCC council meeting held on Monday.
However, a few corporators expressed their displeasure over the amount urging the mayor to increase the amount to Rs5 lakh. Mayor also announced that the city will be made debris-free soon. “A special drive to remove debris in all the wards will start from Tuesday,” he said.
Mayor also announced that city will be made pothole-free before the start of the Dasara celebrations next week.
Gold cards to all the corporators is another major announcement made by the mayor in the meeting.
Members from NR constituency limits alleged that no Dasara funds were released for their wards. They also alleged rampant footpath encroachment in many places. Mayor assured of looking into the issue.
Mayor Shivakumar warned that if any officer does not attend the calls of the corporators and shows negligence in attending to the public grievances, such officials will be relieved from the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) duty.
