Seven-year-old boy drowns in ditch at construction site

Vadodara: A seven-year-old boy died after falling into a deep ditch in Shahera taluka of Panchmahals district on Sunday. The boy identified as Karannath Madari was playing with his friends near the 15-feet deep ditch that was dug at a building construction site.
His friends got into the ditch that was full of water. Madari slipped into it and began drowning. His friends screamed for help but before anyone could reach for help, he drowned in the water.
The local authorities reached the spot and began pumping out the water. After over an hour, Madari’s body was spotted at the bottom of the ditch.
His family is native of Mahisagar district and was camping in Shahera for work.
