VADODARA: MS University has signed an MoU on Saturday with
Gujarat government’s climate change department for promotion of research and innovation in the area of climate change.
Pact was inked on the sidelines of the ‘Panchamrit for climate change:
Youth outreach fortnight’ in presence of Gujarat chief minister Bhupendra Patel. “It is a strategic MoU that we have signed with the climate change department to connect youth for propagation of renewable energy,” said a university official.
As part of the MoU, MSU will involve youngsters in the outreach programme of spreading awareness about the impact of climate change, he said, adding that the long term goal remains to promote research and innovation. The outreach fortnight that will continue till September 30 will be held at all educational institutes across the state, the official added.
“As a university, we have already contributed in the area of drafting policy decisions when it comes to climate change. At the same time, within the university campus too, we are promoting both bio and eco diversity with installation of solar panel, adopting renewable energy sources, promoting green building concept and greener measures,” the official said.
