iPhone 14 Pro, Pro Max users report camera blurriness, grinding sound on Instagram, Snapchat

If you’re one of the lucky ones to have got their hands on the all new iPhone 14 might be experiencing some issues with Apple smartphone’s camera feature on third-party apps.

Several users of the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are reporting uncontrollable lens movement while using social media platforms such as Snapchat, TikTok, Instagram and more.

As per the issues reported, users have noticed the iPhone 14 Pro or Pro Max's camera shaking and making awful grinding sound when opening the camera feature while using a third-party app. Several users also reported that the smartphones are also producing blurry or shaky footage.

The issue is causing video recorded using the camera within the apps to be unpublishable, due to the constant erratic movement.

Apple YouTuber Luke Miani even shared a video on Twitter showing how his new iPhone 14 Pro Max started to vibrate when he opened the camera using Snapchat, which in turn made the picture completely blurry. In the video shared by Miani, you can also hear a buzzing sound coming from the phone's lens.


As of now, no issue has been reported about there being some problem with the iPhone 14 line-up's actual camera. So it's fair to assume that the current camera issue on the new iPhones launched by Apple earlier this month is restricted to third-party software.

The iPhone 14 Pro flaunts a radically different notch, and is also the first device to feature a 48MP primary camera. The smartphones come with Apple’s most powerful software A16 Bionic chip. While the iPhone 14 Pro has a 6.1-inch display, the iPhone 14 Pro Max has a 6.7-inch display. The camera module on the Pro models include a 48MP quad pixel sensor, 12MP telephoto camera, and a 12MP ultrawide camera.
