Mangaluru: Satyajit Surathkal, state president, Narayana Guru Vichara Vedike, urged the government to set up a Billava Development Corporation for the welfare of the community. Despite the
BJP being in power, it has failed to fulfil the long pending demand, he said.
Addressing the media, after the state working committee meeting here on Sunday, Satyajit said that the community, on several occasions, had demanded that the government set up a Brahma Sri Narayana Guru Development Corporation. “Sadly, we have ministers from our community, but no positive work in this regard has been done so far. The Billava community, with a good number of voters, continues to be neglected by the BJP government,” he said.
He criticised Brahma Sri Narayana Guru celebrations held in Bengaluru and Mangaluru. He said, “In Bengaluru, CM Basavaraj Bommai did not attend it, and in Mangaluru, it was more of a political event.”
