Gujarat: Father-son duo charred to death in Sayla

RAJKOT: A man and his 5-year-old son were charred to death inside their car when the CNG-fitted vehicle caught fire near Navagam in Sayla taluka of Surendranagar on Sunday morning.
The deceased was identified as Lalji Khorani (30) and his son Amit, residents of Chiroda village in Chotila taluka of the district. Khorani had come to his wife’s house in Navagam to attend some function there.
According to the police, as soon as the father-son reached the outskirts of Navagam village, their car got engulfed in fire.
Police said that as the doors of the car got locked, Khorani and his son could not get out in time and were burnt to death. Cops suspect that the fire was caused by leakage in the CNG cylinder, said sub-inspector M K Isranni of Dhajala police station in Sayla.
