Jaipur: Intermittent rainfall has not only turned weather pleasant but has also improved the air quality drastically. For three days on a stretch, city’s air remained ‘good’ from September 13 to September 15, which is a desirable air quality among elderlies, people with heart and lung diseases and those sensitive to polluted air.
Ambient air quality in September, so far, remained satisfactory mostly. While Delhi had reported first ‘good’ air day on Friday for the first time this year, Jaipur witnessed ‘good’ air quality thrice in September.
Only twice, on September 6 and September 9, city’s air had turned moderate. With frequent rainfall and winds blowing in the city, city’s air quality has improved.
Air Quality Index (AQI) has been in the ‘good’ category from September 13 to September 15.
For the past two days, the AQI in the city has slightly deteriorated as it turned ‘satisfactory’.
If the air quality is satisfactory, it may cause minor discomfort to sensitive people. However, if it is moderate, then it may cause discomfort to the people with lungs, asthma, and heart diseases. On September 14, the city had witnessed best air quality measured at 46 AQI.
