THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As part of the initiative to empower and further strengthen the organization, the state-level campaign ‘Sudridham-2022’, organized under the leadership of Kudumbashree, has started. The campaign is part of the year-long Kudumbashree silver jubilee celebrations.
The aim is to find and integrate those who are not yet members and those who have left various neighbouring groups. As many as 1,070 community development societies (CDS), 19,438 area development societies and 3,06,551 neighbourhood groups will partake in the campaign.
Formation of new neighbourhood groups, inclusion of newly-entered and departed group members, re-activation of inoperative neighbourhood groups and their training are major objectives of the two-week campaign. There will also be a focus on coastal, minority, scheduled tribe areas .
New neighbourhood groups will be formed for transgender, disabled and elderly community people. Health camps will be organized for them and steps to ensure insurance coverage will also be initiated. An app will also be introduced to better monitor the activities.Training for CDSs will be organized on Monday under the leadership of the district mission.
