Thiruvananthapuram: Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan will meet
Karnataka chief minister Basavaraj Bommai on Sunday. The meeting will be held at Bengaluru at 9.30 am. There are reports that the discussion will include extending the SilverLine project to Mangaluru. However, the CMO has said such a discussion is not in the agenda of the meeting.
During the meeting of the South Regional Council held in
Thiruvananthapuram, the two states had agreed to discuss the issues related to railways at the chief ministerial level.
Matters related to Thalassery-Mysuru-Nilambur Nanchankod roads will also be discussed. Vijayan will also participate in the public meeting and mass rally organized by the CPM at Bagepally.
There were reports that Kerala had sought Karnataka’s support for SilverLine at the South Indian Council meeting attended by Union home minister Amit Shah. The position of the state government is that if the Centre gives permission, it will go ahead with the project. In this situation, the reports are that the state is also seeking the support of BJP-ruled Karnataka by putting forward the new idea of Mangaluru connectivity. tnn
