Eight held for transporting sand illegally

Mangaluru: The police arrested eight persons on the charges of illegal transportation of sand in Ullal police station limits on Friday.
After seeing CCTV footage of illegal transportation of sand, police personnel conducted a raid and arrested eight persons, and also seized two pick-up vehicles used for stand transportation.
Two accused from UP
The arrested accused are Riyaz,26, Raghunath,40, Atul,22, Ramadhari,28, Pankaj,24, from Someshwara; Aboobakkar,53, from K C Road in Talapady, Rajesh,50, from Talapady, and Muthalib alias Muthali,40, from K C Road. Among the arrested, Atul, Ramadhari and Pankaj hail from Uttar Pradesh.
