Hubballi: Union minister Pralhad Joshi has ruled out taking any disciplinary action against former chief minister B S
Yediyurappa in the wake of the high court asking the Lokayukta to file an FIR against him (Yeddyurappa) over a private complaint on corruption.
Joshi told reporters here on Friday that action against Yediyurappa is not needed as he is not in any constitutional post. “He holds a position in the party and action against him is not necessary. The party does not have any norm against officebearers,” he said, adding the matter is yet to be investigated. The party is confident Yeddyurappa would come out clean, he said.
On party leader Basavaraj Patil Yatnal seeking Yediyurappa’s resignation from the party post, Joshi said he will not comment as he has not heard what Yatnal has said.
While reacting to the trading of charges by former CM Siddaramaiah and BJP national general secretary C T Ravi, Joshi said people in public life should choose their words cautiously.
Reacting to the Congress walking out of the council while passing the Anti-Conversion Bill, Joshi ridiculed saying it has become a practice by the party. “If this continues, Congress would soon walkout of the elections too,” he said.
On bureaucrats appealing to the Election Commission to derecognise Aam Aadmi Party alleging it of misusing the state administrative machinery, he said the party which was born out of an anti-corruption campaign has embroiled itself in corruption cases.
