GUWAHATI: Assam down town University (AdtU) on Friday celebrated the 9th Convocation Day, which was graced by governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi, state education minister Dr Ranoj Pegu, former director general CSIR Dr Shekhar C Mande along with dignitaries of the university, faculty members, students and their parents.
Vice-chancellor professor NC Talukdar presented the university report after the speech which was followed by the conferment of DLitt (Honoris Causa) to prominent industrialist Chiranjit Chaliha, eminent entrepreneur and industrialist Dinesh Shahra and noted chartered accountant Prof CA (Dr) MS Jadav.
This year, a total of 1,300 students and scholars graduated, of whom 1,063 are undergraduates, 299 are post-graduates and 12 are PhD degree holders. tnn
