County says 'no health and safety concerns' following landfill fire

County officials said there are no health or safety concerns after a fire broke out at the Smiths Creek Landfill, 6779 Smiths Creek Road in Kimball Township Saturday.

"Kimball Township Fire Department, along with multiple community fire departments and site operators, are working to contain the fire.  There are currently no health and safety concerns and the fire is being contained within the Smiths Creek Landfill," the county said in a press release.
