PANAJI: After eight Congress MLAs moved to BJP, Congress Goa desk-incharge Dinesh Gundu Rao had alleged that the MLAs made the switch for Rs 40 crore each. On Friday, Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar, who is among those that made the switch, said that Rao had allotted Congress tickets for the 2022 elections in exchange for money.
“Of the 40 constituencies, in the case of 12, hundreds of crores of rupees were charged in exchange for a ticket by the Congress. Dinesh Gundu Rao should himself introspect. Even for the post of party president, the dealings took place in Bengaluru and were worth crores of rupees. He made someone a party president, who does not even know who his party workers are,” Amonkar said.
Meanwhile, BJP state president Sadanand Shet Tanavade said that the party will hold various programmes from September 17 to October 2 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday.
He said exhibitions on the various schemes available will be held at Panaji, Margao, Mapusa and Curchorem.
