Actor Akkineni Naga Chaitanya announced his separation from his wife Samantha Ruth Prabhu, a piece of news that sent shockwaves across the Internet. In a joint statement released in October last year, the couple revealed that they had filed for divorce nearly four-year-long marriage.
Now, according to reports, the actor's father, Akkineni Nagarjuna, told Pinkvilla that their divorce is ‘unfortunate’ and added that it was an experience that happened to the 'Venky Mama' actor. In the interview, he further said that they can’t quibble about it. There is nothing to do with bothering about their separation. It’s over. He concluded that they see him happy now.

The love between Chay-Sam blossomed on the sets of Ye Maya Chesave. They kept their relationship under wraps for a long period of time and finally tied the knot in October 2017. On October 2, 2021, the two announced their separation.

''To all our well-wishers. After much deliberation and thought, Chay and I have decided to part ways as husband and wife to pursue our own paths. We are fortunate to have a friendship of over a decade that was the very core of our relationship, which we believe will always hold a special bond between us. We request our fans, well-wishers and the media to support us during this difficult time and give us the privacy we need to move on. Thanking you for your support,'' the joint statement read.

The estranged couple urged their fans to respect their decision and give them much-needed privacy.
