Parag Milk(up 10.22%), Varun Beverages(up 2.07%), Dangee Dums(up 1.15%), Umang Dairies(up 0.88%), ADF Foods(up 0.87%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 0.78%), Hindustan Foods(up 0.66%), Prataap Snacks(up 0.65%), P & G Hygiene(up 0.52%) and Colgate Palmolive(India)(up 0.30%) stood among the top gainers.
Euro India Fresh Foods(down 6.28%), Future Consumer(down 4.26%), Dodla Dairy(down 2.25%), Vadilal Industries(down 2.24%), Marico(down 1.97%), Nakoda Group(down 1.50%), Bajaj Consumer(down 1.24%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(down 0.92%), Jyothy Labs(down 0.86%) and Zydus Wellness(down 0.76%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 126.35 points down at 17877.4, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 412.96 points at 59934.01.
Maruti Suzuki(up 2.7%), Eicher Motors(up 2.27%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 2.18%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 2.17%), NTPC(up 1.6%), Grasim Industries(up 1.43%), Coal India(up 0.99%), HDFC(up 0.25%), Bharti Airtel(up 0.22%) and Larsen & Toubro(up 0.18%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Hindalco Industries(down 3.98%), Infosys(down 2.89%), Tech Mahindra(down 2.84%), Cipla(down 2.51%), Hero MotoCorp(down 2.15%), Bajaj Auto(down 2.14%), Tata Steel(down 1.97%), Enterprises(down 1.94%), Bajaj Finserv(down 1.84%) and Divis Laboratories(down 1.72%) closed in the red.
