Saudi official sign MoU agreement with Chinese firm

The Saudi Tourism Authority and UnionPay, a Shanghai-based financial company, have recently signed a memorandum of understanding. This was targeted to boost the number of Chinese visitors to Saudi Arabia.


The Saudi Press Agency reported that the Chinese state-owned financial services company, under the new MoU agreement, will make payment operations within the Kingdom for UnionPay card holders easy.


The pact forms part of the ongoing drive of the authority to draw greater number of international tourists to Saudi Arabia while encouraging tourism destinations and experiences in the country as well.


Fahd Hamidaddin, authority chief executive officer, stated that the connection with UnionPay was a crucial step toward the Kingdom in turning out to be a preferred tourist destination for Chinese visitors.
