UP Police arrest Nigerian for duping people

LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force arrested a Nigerian national who used to dupe people by impersonating a German girl using Facebook Messenger service.
Jerome Balla was arrested from Delhi on Thursday. The cops also recovered mobile SIM cards and Nigerian passports from his possession.
The UPSTF was asked by the various states to work on cases in which people were being duped via social networking sites.
ASP Vishal Vikram Singh said that the first case of fraud was reported by retired engineer of Hindustan Aeronautics limited (HAL) Harjeet Singh Bhasin from Lucknow.
In his complaint to the police, Bhasin said he was duped by a German girl Annalisa Thompson of Rs 8.25 lakh in 2021.
