MANGALURU: A 15-year-old boy from Lucknow, who was found in Mangaluru in May, was reunited with his family recently. The boy was suffering from a mental illness, and was rehabilitated at the Seon Ashram Trust in Belthangady.
An official from the ashram said that the boy travelled in a train from Lucknow to Delhi, and Delhi to Mangaluru. He was reported missing on May 15. He had no clue where he was heading. The boy was rescued from the Mangaluru Central railway station, and produced before the Child Welfare Committee, and later sent to Seon Ashram.
"He used to be aggressive and had anger management issues. He was given regular counselling and treatment, and after a lot of effort, we were able to trace the address of his parents. With the help of Khala Bazar police station and Subhash U P, trustee of Seon Ashram, we could reach out to his family. Once he recovered to an extent, he was eagerly waiting for the arrival of his family. His uncle and aunt arrived at the ashram recently, and the boy was sent home," the official said.
