Inter-district burglars held in Davanagere

DAVANAGERE: Hadadi police in Davanagere taluk on Wednesday arrested an inter-district gang of four who were involved in house thefts near seventh milestone and Turuchaghatta village near Davanagere in the recent past.
The accused are Ramesh, Manu and Renuka, from Chikmagalur and Pradeep from Davanagere. They confessed that they burgled the houses during the night and looted gold and silver ornaments.
All the four have been sent to judicial custody. Based on a complaint lodged by the victims, SP CB Ryshyanth had formed a separate team to bust the night house thefts reported in the district.
Police have recovered all the stolen gold and silver ornaments along with two full LPG cylinders, a computer monitor along with a home theatre sound box besides an auto used for their crimes, all worth over Rs 4.87 lakh, stated a release.
