Jaipur: Moderate to heavy showers accompanied by strong winds were recorded in Jaipur, Bharatpur and Bikaner divisions on Tuesday. Jaipur Met office said the ongoing last spell of monsoon will bring widespread rainfall. Mild to moderate showers were also witnessed in Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Alwar, Bharatpur and Karauli districts.
Attributing the revival of the monsoon to active northerly winds, the Met office said in the coming days, moderate to heavy showers will take place at many areas in eastern and western Rajasthan.
People in Jaipur woke up to a warmer morning with a maximum temperature of 26.4°C. It was followed by a cloudy but hot afternoon having a humidity of 90% and a maximum temperature of 31.7°C. In the evening, scattered rainfall was witnessed in and around Jaipur that guided the mercury to take a dip.
Jaipur Met office said monsoon will remain active in the state till September 18. “Usually, monsoon starts withdrawing from September 15 but this time it will continue till September 18,” a Met officer said.
In this season so far, 609.31mm of rainfall was recorded till Tuesday against 542.75mm till September 13, 2021. In its forecast, Met office said mild to moderate showers would be witnessed at eastern and western Rajasthan in the next 24 hours.
