Mangaluru: Mayor Jayanand Anchan on Tuesday chaired a meeting to discuss issues related to drinking water supply in a few wards in Mangaluru City Corporation limits. Corporators of ward number 25, 27, 28, 41, 43, 44 and 45 complained that several houses were not getting uninterrupted water supply. The corporators said water supply is disrupted in Hat Hill, Subhash Nagar, Bunder, Pachanady, Boloor, Kudroli, Ashok Nagar, Hoige Bazar and other areas.
Many pointed out that the pipelines are damaged and water leakage leads to disruption in supply. The mayor directed engineers of the respective wards to address their problems at the earliest. The mayor suggested that a meeting of valvemen of all wards should be convened. He also directed engineers of all wards to visit the pumphouses and ensure water supply is not disrupted. He directed MCC commissioner Akshy Sridhar to look into the issue and take appropriate action.
