
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday condoled the death of Chhatrapati Shivajiraje Bhosale who died at the age of 75 due to age-related illness at a private hospital in Pune on Tuesday evening.
“Saddened by the demise of Shrimant Chhatrapati Shivajiraje Bhosale Ji. He was a dynamic and multifaceted personality who worked extensively among the people. He made a rich contribution towards Satara’s progress. Condolences to his family, friends and admirers,” the Prime Minister said in a tweet.
A descendant of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Bhosale was the uncle of BJP MP Udyanraje Bhosale and party MLA Shivendraraje Bhosale.
Born on April 23, 1947, Bhosale was hailed for his contribution in the fields of education, arts, culture and sports. He was the former president of Maharashtra State Badminton Association and president of Satara District Badminton Association.
